The short version: we sell professional braiding fiber to customers in the United States, the minimum order is 3 packs, screens show color imperfectly, unopened packages can be exchanged once if the shade is wrong, and nothing here takes away a right California law gives you.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Katerina Kralina, a sole proprietor doing business as DREADSCULT (“DREADSCULT”, “we”, “us”), and govern your use of dreadscult.com (the “Site”) and any order you place through it. By using the Site or placing an order you accept these Terms together with our Returns & Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, and Privacy Policy, which are incorporated here by reference. If you do not accept them, do not use the Site.
1. Who can order
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract. We currently ship only to addresses within the United States, and you may not place an order from, or arrange forwarding to, a destination we do not serve.
2. Products and color accuracy
We sell kanekalon braiding fiber in two lines, Vibrant and Universal. One pack is 100 g / 3.5 oz, 65 cm / 24 in, not pre-stretched, individually textured, brushed, and checked by hand before it is packed.
Color on a screen is not the color in your hands. Monitors, phone displays, and lighting all shift how a shade reads. We photograph every shade as honestly as we can, and we offer a free Color Matching Service before you buy — send us a photo of the hair in natural daylight and we will help you pick. A shade that differs from your screen is not a defect; it is handled under our color exchange policy. The Color Matching Service is our opinion based on the photograph you send, not a guarantee of the finished result.
3. Safety, skin sensitivity, and no health claims
This is a hair product for professional and personal styling. It is not a medical device or a drug, and we make no health, medical, or hypoallergenic claims about it. Synthetic braiding fiber can irritate sensitive skin. Patch-test before use if you or your client have sensitive skin or a history of reaction to synthetic hair, follow standard braiding practice for tension and aftercare, and stop use and seek advice if irritation occurs. We are not responsible for results that depend on technique, tension, installation, or aftercare.
4. California Proposition 65
California’s Proposition 65 (Cal. Health & Safety Code § 25249.6) requires businesses to give a clear warning before a California consumer is exposed to a significant amount of a chemical on a state-published list. Synthetic braiding fiber is a modacrylic product, and published research has reported listed chemicals in products of this category.
Where a Proposition 65 warning is required for a product we sell, we display it on that product’s page before you complete your purchase, in the form California regulations prescribe (Cal. Code Regs. tit. 27, § 25602(b)). A warning is a legal disclosure, not a statement that the product is unsafe when used as intended. If you have questions about the materials in a specific shade, write to us before you order and we will tell you what we know from our manufacturer.
5. Prices, minimum order, and taxes
- All prices are in US dollars.
- The minimum order is 3 packs. This keeps shipping affordable and lets every order be prepared by hand.
- The price you see includes every mandatory charge we impose, as required by California’s honest pricing law (Cal. Civ. Code § 1770(a)(29)). We add no service fees, handling fees, or surcharges at the end of checkout. Sales tax and, where it applies, shipping are shown separately before you pay.
- Applicable sales tax is calculated and shown at checkout where required by law.
- We may change prices at any time. The price that applies to your order is the one shown at the moment you complete checkout. If a price or description is obviously wrong — a typographical error — we may cancel the affected order and refund you in full.
6. Orders and acceptance
Your order is an offer to buy. A confirmation email acknowledges that we received it; the contract is formed when we accept the order by shipping it. We may decline or cancel an order — and refund you in full — if an item is out of stock, if the price or description was clearly wrong, if we cannot verify the payment or the shipping address, or if we reasonably suspect fraud or a breach of these Terms.
7. Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, major credit and debit cards, and PayPal. Card details are entered on Stripe’s payment page; DREADSCULT never receives or stores your card number. By paying you also accept the applicable Stripe terms. You warrant that you are authorised to use the payment method you submit.
If you believe a charge is wrong, contact us before disputing it with your bank — see our Returns & Refund Policy. We reserve the right to recover, as a debt, amounts charged back to us in bad faith on orders that were delivered.
8. Pro Braider Program and promotional codes
Professional pricing is available to braiders we have verified through an Instagram profile, a portfolio, a licence, or a professional business listing. Professional codes are personal: they may not be shared, resold, or published. We may verify, suspend, or withdraw a professional account at any time if the verification turns out to be inaccurate or a code is misused. Withdrawing a code does not affect an order already paid for.
Promotional codes cannot be combined unless we say so, have no cash value, are not redeemable for cash, and may expire or be withdrawn at any time before an order is completed.
9. Shipping, delays, title, and risk
Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees. Title and risk of loss pass to you when the carrier takes possession of the parcel; what happens with delayed, lost, or stolen parcels is set out in our Shipping Policy.
Your right to cancel a delayed order. Under the Federal Trade Commission’s Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule (16 C.F.R. Part 435), we ship within the time stated on the Site or, if no time is stated, within 30 days of your properly completed order. If we cannot, we will tell you before that deadline and offer you the choice of consenting to the delay or cancelling for a prompt, full refund. You never have to ask for that option — we owe it to you.
10. Returns, exchanges, and refunds
Because braiding fiber is a hygiene-sensitive product handled directly against hair and scalp, returns are accepted only for unopened packages in original condition, and we offer a one-time color exchange. The full rules, including who pays return shipping and how long refunds take, are in our Returns & Refund Policy, which is disclosed to you before you pay.
11. Intellectual property
The DREADSCULT name, logo, site design, and the text and photographs we own are protected by copyright and trade mark law and may not be copied or used commercially without our written permission. You may share our images on social media with credit and a link.
Some product images are supplied by, or licensed from, our manufacturer and remain their property. If you believe material on the Site infringes your copyright, write to dreadscult.hair@gmail.com with the details required by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and we will investigate and remove infringing material.
12. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to disrupt the Site, probe it for vulnerabilities, scrape it in bulk, circumvent its security, submit false information, or use it to break the law. We may block access, cancel orders, or terminate a professional account for any of these.
13. Warranties — and what California guarantees you
Nothing in these Terms waives the implied warranty of merchantability or of fitness for a particular purpose that the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act (Cal. Civ. Code §§ 1790 et seq.) gives you on consumer goods sold in California. Those warranties cannot be disclaimed on new consumer goods sold at retail, and we do not attempt to disclaim them.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Site and its content are provided “as is” and we disclaim other warranties, express or implied, including that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free. Some states do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and you may have other rights that vary by state.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, including lost profits or lost client bookings. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, for gross negligence, for personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — and nothing here limits your rights under the Song-Beverly Act or the Consumers Legal Remedies Act.
15. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site or of a professional code.
16. Resolving a dispute
Talk to us first. Before starting any formal proceeding, email dreadscult.hair@gmail.com with your order number and what you would like to happen, and give us 30 days to fix it. Nearly every problem is solved in a single email.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules and without depriving you of the protection of the consumer law of the state where you live. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court.
17. Electronic communications
By using the Site you consent to receive communications from us electronically — emails, messages, and notices posted on the Site — and you agree that they satisfy any legal requirement that a communication be in writing, under the federal E-SIGN Act. You may withdraw this consent by writing to us, though we may then be unable to process online orders for you.
18. Events outside our control
We are not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including carrier failures, natural disasters, fire, epidemic, labour disputes, supplier failure, war, or government action. If such an event prevents us from shipping your order, we will tell you and offer you a full refund.
19. Accessibility
We want this Site to be usable by everyone, and we work toward the WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines. If any part of the Site is difficult for you to use, write to dreadscult.hair@gmail.com and we will help you place your order directly and fix the problem.
20. General
- Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force and the provision is narrowed to the minimum extent needed to make it enforceable.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them to a successor of our business.
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the policies they incorporate are the whole agreement between us about the Site and your order.
- Survival. Sections 11 to 16 survive the completion or cancellation of an order.
21. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms; the version in force for your order is the one published when you completed checkout. The effective date at the top of this page shows the current version.
